GAS MAD S1-124, 12" baselement

GAS Audio Power MAD S1-124 is a really nicely designed 12” woofer that offers a surprisingly lot of bass for the money! This woofer borrows a lot of features from its big brother S2. A woofer that really raises the bar in the price range and is guaranteed to take the lower frequency register to new heights!

A sturdy and durable cone!

S1-124 is the MAD series' rebellious little brother. The woofer shares some of the technical solutions that GAS developed for the impressive S2 series - such as basket, voice coil and cone. The latter is the first thing you'll see, both are equipped with the incredibly robust cone made of injection moulded polypropylene (IMPP). A cool detail, which also makes the cone more durable. Just play!

A lot of bass for the money

There are two big differences between the MAD S1 and S2 series. Perhaps the biggest difference between the S1 and S2 series is the magnets - which are actually the same size, but where the S1 lacks the protective rubber and has a simpler magnet that can withstand a little less power. The suspension itself also differs, where the outer cover is made of EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate). The S2 series instead has the homogeneous and technically advanced suspension that GAS calls USG (“Unity Surround & Gasket”).

“Keep it cool”

If you like to play, good cooling is important! GAS has implemented a steel basket with a robust cooling system called DVS (“Dual Ventilation System”) for a more lush bass with reduced distortion and increased heat dissipation. Ventilation is provided in the rear pole piece, which also has a rise in the middle for increased travel.
