VHT FLAMEPROOF™ The varnish restores and extends the life of all surfaces exposed to extremely high temperatures. VHT's unique varnish was originally developed for the aerospace industry but is now also used in the automotive industry to treat exhaust systems and in the aviation industry for painting jet engines. VHT FLAMEPROOF is a proven quality product for all high-temperature applications up to 1093°C (continuous 704°C). Supplied in a 400ml can which is enough for approx. 1.1-1.3 m2. Flameproof can be handled after 3 hours.
CURING OF VHT FLAMEPROOF™
VHT FLAMEPROOF™, like most high-temperature paints, can only achieve its properties through correct heat curing as described below.
For painted objects on vehicles:
-First let the paint dry for 24 hours.
-Drive at idle for 10 minutes.
-Let it cool for 20 minutes.
-Drive at idle for 20 minutes.
-Let it cool for 20 minutes.
-Normal driving for 30 minutes.
Heat curing in an oven:
-First let the paint dry for 24 hours.
-Heat to approx. 121°C for 30 minutes.
-Let it cool for 30 minutes.
-Heat to approx. 204°C for 30 minutes
-Let cool for 30 minutes
-Heat to approximately 343°C for 30 minutes.
VHT Flameproof should be painted wet on wet and this also applies to primer on paint. Each layer is applied with approximately 10 minutes between coats and all layers should be applied within 1 hour if more time has passed it is recommended to wait 7 days before painting.
