Description
Electric flasher relay for MC
Flashes with the same frequency regardless of load
Works for both LED and Halogen
"Silent flashing" (no clicking sound)
Electronic flasher relay
The flasher relay is of the electronic type, which means that the flashing frequency (speed) is always the same regardless of the load in the circuit. Original flasher relays are often of the mechanical type, which works a little differently. The mechanical flasher relay is adapted for a predetermined load and the flashing frequency can increase or decrease depending on whether the load changes. Anyone who has had a broken flasher bulb has probably been out because the flasher flashes very quickly - This is because the load (resistance) in the circuit has decreased and therefore the frequency has increased.
The same phenomenon occurs when replacing Halogen bulbs with LED. LED, which consumes significantly less power, starts to flash very quickly and this can be fixed by using a power resistor or by changing the flasher relay to an electronic one.
