These tanks have two connections at the bottom, one is connected to the radiator and the other is aeration for the tank. (In and Out)
The nice thing about the bottom connection is that you never have to empty the tank, when the water cools down again it is sucked back into the cooling system because the volume decreases with the lower temperature.
